Terms of use
Plain-language terms for using CanIHost and its API.
Last updated: September 2026
1. The service
CanIHost provides free tools and information for estimating whether a given computer can run local AI models: a hardware compatibility checker, a quick-scan helper, model and GPU reference pages, and educational guides. The service is provided as-is, free of charge.
2. Estimates, not guarantees
All recommendations, memory requirements and speeds are estimates produced by the llmfit engine (see our methodology). Actual performance depends on factors beyond the profile (runtime, drivers, thermals, configuration). CanIHost makes no warranty that a recommended configuration will perform as estimated, and no warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose to the extent permitted by law.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or abuse the service.
- Do not scrape the site at volumes that degrade it for other visitors.
- You may quote and link to our content freely with attribution; wholesale copying of the guide library is not permitted.
4. Your data
Use of the service is governed by our privacy policy: we store no personal data and no hardware profiles.
5. Third-party content and links
The site links to external resources (model repositories, GPU specifications, open-source projects) and may display third-party advertising. We are not responsible for the content of external sites or ads; advertising does not influence recommendations.
6. Availability
The service is provided as-is, without uptime guarantees. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CanIHost and its maintainers are not liable for any damages arising from use of the site, its estimates, or decisions (including purchases) made based on its content.
