Privacy policy
Short version: we compute compatibility from the numbers you provide and store nothing about you. Details below.
Last updated: September 2026
1. Who we are
CanIHost ("we", "the site") operates the website at canihost.com, a compatibility checker for local AI models. For privacy questions: contact@exogit.com.
2. Data you provide — hardware profiles
To produce recommendations, the site sends a hardware profile (RAM, VRAM, CPU threads, backend) to the llmfit API. That profile:
- is used only to compute the compatibility analysis for your current request;
- is not stored, logged as a profile, or linked to you;
- contains no personal identifiers — just numbers.
3. The quick scan
The quick scan uses a PowerShell command that runs entirely on your computer and reads hardware information only (CPU, RAM, GPU name and memory). It does not install anything, does not modify your system, and does not send data anywhere by itself. You choose whether to copy its JSON output and paste it into the site. If you paste it, section 2 applies: used for the analysis, not stored.
4. Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.
- Where required by law (including the EEA and UK), we obtain your consent before serving personalized advertising through a consent management interface, and you can change your choice at any time — see our cookie notice.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your hardware inputs for advertising.
5. Server logs
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider records standard request logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent) for security and abuse prevention. Logs are retained by the hosting provider for a limited period and are not used to profile visitors.
6. Local storage
The site may use your browser's local storage for minor conveniences (for example remembering a form tab). This never leaves your browser and contains no personal information.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/EEA under GDPR), you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection regarding personal data. Since we store no personal data about visitors, most requests will simply confirm that. For ad-personalization choices, use the opt-outs in section 4 or your browser settings. Contact contact@exogit.com for anything else.
8. Children
The site is a technical utility not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
